In her recent Interview to Sky News, she said - “Cinema has the power to build an image that is very strong" & she believes that "international film industries have been incorrectly portraying Pakistanis in movies that has fueled the rise of Islamophobia".
She further added, “Our neighbours [India] have one of the largest film industries in the world and in a time where they could’ve used the power they yield to bring us together, what do they do? They make countless films showing Pakistanis as villains”.
Few days ago, she addressed at a Peace event in Oslo (Norway) and recognised with an award for Pride of Performance.Actress @MehwishHayat says the way Pakistani people are portrayed in Hollywood and Bollywood has "fuelled the rise of Islamophobia".— Sky News (@SkyNews) August 16, 2019

By the way, there’s obvious difference between her intellect and the intellect of many of Bollywood artists. Their talk is normally full of hatred, whereas, Mehwish is spreading peace & love.#MehwishHayat pic.twitter.com/NWZX3vTWOU
